Immigration New Zealand released the Green List occupations to attract high-skilled migrants to hard-to-fill roles in the country and will offer a guaranteed residence pathway for them.

The Green List occupations have been released by Immigration New Zealand to attract high-skilled migrants to hard-to-fill roles in the country and will offer a guaranteed residence pathway for them. The roles on the Green List have been identified as being in high demand globally and in ongoing shortage in New Zealand.

Eligible migrants working in these occupations will have clear pathways to residence in New Zealand, either through a direct, fast-tracked, residence application (Straight to Residence Visa) or by staying in the role for two years (Work to Residence Visa). The pathway depends on the role, as listed below. Partners of migrants on a Green List role may be eligible for open work rights and dependent children may be eligible for visitor or student visas.
